Amy and Benjie’s Countryside Wedding in Romsey
We were delighted to cater for Amy and Benjie’s stunning countryside wedding in Romsey, where they celebrated their special day surrounded by family and friends.
The Peapod & Co. team arrived early to ensure everything was perfectly prepared for the day ahead.
At 3:00pm, the church ceremony began in Romsey Abbey, marking the start of a truly memorable celebration. Romsey Abbey is a stunning example of 12th-century Norman architecture and one of England’s great historic buildings. Once part of a late Saxon nunnery, it is the only structure that remains, offering a fascinating glimpse into the past and a rich sense of history.
Amy entered the magnificent Abbey on her father’s arm, wearing a breathtaking Suzanne Neville wedding gown. The day’s events were captured by Divine Day Photography, whose work has been recognised globally by Vogue, Elle, and Vanity Fair.
The Marquee Reception
Following the ceremony, guests were invited back to the client’s family home, where a stunning marquee reception awaited. Amy and Benjie made their entrance in style, arriving in a vintage blue Austin Healey, greeted by cheers from their guests.
As the sun shone, canapés were served — a selection from the sea, soil, and land, offering guests a chance to mingle. The air was filled with the smooth sounds of saxophonist Heather Hoyle as champagne flowed and guests sipped on Roseblood Estoublon Rosé. The fun continued with a Aperol Spritz drinks station, where guests enjoyed refreshing cocktails throughout the afternoon.
The marquee, set in the glorious garden, was beautifully styled with floral arrangements by Catherine Coombes, which brought the beauty of the outdoors in. The floral arrangements consisted of a mix of red, pink, and white flowers, complemented by abundant greenery and leafy branches. The use of cascading greenery in the ceiling installations and above the bar added drama and a natural feel.
Stylish signage and glowing Pooky cordless lamps illuminated the tables and bar.
The Wedding Menu
Reflecting the couple’s love of food, the wedding menu was a highlight. Guests were treated to a three-course dinner that began with sweet pea panna cotta with Dorset crab, mango, and brown crab toast — a light and vibrant starter. For the main course, guests enjoyed Za’atar crusted chicken with roasted cauliflower, pomegranate, and lemon yoghurt.
Dessert was a selection of canapés, including mini sugared doughnuts with strawberry and basil compote, followed by a elegant wedding cake, carefully crafted by Domino Purchas.
The evening continued with late-night food, including pork belly bao buns with sesame slaw and crispy onions — ensuring guests stayed fuelled for the night’s festivities.

The Party
As the evening unfolded, the speeches brought heartfelt moments, laughter, and plenty of witty jokes, keeping everyone entertained.
The couple’s first dance, with a burst of confetti, was a magical moment that kicked off the dancing. From there, the energy on the dance floor only intensified. House of Lemon and Dos Tiempos provided live music, whilst we served bespoke cocktails to guests, including Benjie’s G&T and Amy’s Picante.
Spirits were high and the mood was celebratory, with guests dancing into the early hours and enjoying plenty of funny moments in the photo booth.
