We’ve picked our ten best rosé wines, tried and tested, to buy this summer and sip under the glorious sun. Best served with delicious canapés, fresh fish, seafood, salads or barbecues. But, do stock up soon, as the best rosé wines tend to fly off the shelves very quickly during the warmer months, and even more so during the lockdown.
1. Rimauresq Cru Classé Rosé 2019, Côtes De Provence
Fruity, pale in colour with a clean refreshing dry finish and goes well with all food. Easy drinking and it’s good to see this bottle back again for the summer.

2. M de Minuty Rosé 2019, Côtes de Provence
A delicious pale pink Provençal rosé, slightly dry, with hints of citrus. It is delicious with all types of food and instantly recognisable for its famous fluted bottle.

3. Whispering Angel Rosé 2019, Chateau d'Esclans
Famous across the world, this medium-bodied lovely pale dry Provence rosé has delicate summer fruits with the freshness of citrus flavours. The admired rosé has become somewhat of a fashion accessory at picnics and events.

4. Le Bijou Rosé de Sophie Valrose Coteaux de Béziers, Languedoc
Our go to wine during the lockdown and one of Ed Sheeran’s too - he must shop in Waitrose! Elegantly fragrant, with aromas of wild strawberries, citrus and delicate floral notes. Beautifully presented and perfect by itself or with salads.

5. Barton & Guestier Côtes de Provence Rosé Magnum
Barton & Guestier dry pale rosé is a good choice for a barbecues or summer parties. The popular sized magnum bottle is always a hit when entertaining or hosting events, pouring 12 fruity well-balanced refreshing glasses of wine. We enjoyed its elegant floral, citrus, pear, peach and berry notes.

6. Gérard Bertrand Côte des Roses Rosé 2020, Languedoc
A delicious dry Languedoc rosé with a beautiful rose shaped bottom and glass stopper, pale pink with aromas of summer fruits and redcurrant. Great with barbecues, chicken, fish or by itself.

7. STILL Rosé by Hattingley Valley 2020, Hampshire, England
We always like to support local businesses so we couldn’t turn a blind eye to Hattingley’s first still rosé, likened to Provençal rosé. Aptly named ‘Still’ and pink salmon in colour, it’s fruity, light and delicate on the palate, with a slightly dry aftertaste. Good with or without food.

A little drier than the other rosés mentioned here but still a favourite of ours with lovely summer fruits. Great with vegetable dishes.
